Instructor: Pat Kearns
For a detailed critique and evaluation of your marine survey reports, you may register for this mentoring course at any time
Whether you have already taken our initial wordsmithing course or not, this is your opportunity to hone your skills, working on your own reports. This course is a one-on-one for each student to submit survey reports to the literary, editorial, technical and copy proof process with the instructor.
Each report will undergo a line-by-line study, and you'll participate in instructor feedback on everything from spelling, punctuation, syntax and other grammar rules to sentence structure, technical language and citing the correct standard to support your opinions.
Every facet of report writing is included with concrete suggestions for report structure, format, layout and use of photographs and other images. With each report submitted, your skills will grow along with your confidence in your own written word.
With this practicum, you'll be working with a literary guardian angel at your side, acting as your private tutor in report writing. The course will also include a forum as well as reference materials to aid you in your progress. Your instructor will have regular online "office hours" during which you can chat with her online or by phone. Group teleconferences will be set up as needed.
